Father of the psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud considered dreams to be the royal road to the unconscious. He even wrote a massive book about this: The Interpretation Of Dreams. According to Freud, dreams are coded messages from your subconscious. You can’t understand these messages without knowing how to analyse your dreams.
Dream interpretation, dream analysis and dream explanation: nowadays this can be learned in various courses or by way of coaching. There are even alphabetic guides with dream symbols. For example on the Dutch website of Marjan Klop of Dromen & Visioenen (Dreams & Visions). ‘If you dream about menstruating, this means you’re letting go of suppressed tension.’

‘Dreams or visions about sanitary towels tell you about the cycle of life, the end and the beginning of situations. Another explanation is that you’re letting go of suppressed tension, worries and a time in which you needed security. You let go of a part of yourself, which means your worries disappear, but also the security you felt. You’ll overcome your problems.’
‘Dreams or visions about menstruation tell you that you’re letting go of supressed tension and worries. It signals the end of a difficult period, and the beginning of relaxation and tranquillity in your life. Another explanation is that you ignore your feminine side. If you dream that you try to stop your menstruation this means that you don’t let things such as tension, emotions or the end, take their course.’
