Say it PERIOD
Red is the color of pain
The color red which when gets visible in the public, perceived as a stain
The stain which makes a woman feel ashamed, as society puts the blame
The blame that she couldn’t hide it from people who certainly gonna judge her by saying that you are playing the victim game unwilling to conceal the stain
The Red Dot on her White cloth
Is the reason that you are here on the earth, then who gave you the right to make it a stigma which has plunged many of us into an unreasonable dilemma of keeping it a secret??!!
Wondering the roots of such obnoxious names given to our periods, sometimes being whispered as Code Red, Red Wedding, Aunt Flo….!!
Unpredictable mood and Unbearable pain,
Every month she has to go through the same
During her periods, she works as efficiently as her male counterparts, never asking for leave to get some peaceful sleep.
Be it an urban settlement or rural one,
She could never talk about her periods, as for society it’s a matter of stigma and immense shame…..
My only urge to everyone including all the women and girls, just say it PERIOD instead of addressing it with some absurd names.
Remove the STIGMA not the name..!
